DIY Holiday Activities For Kids

The holiday season is upon us, so kids will soon be out of school for the rest of the year. Parents are often delighted that their kids are home for the holiday season; however, they also wonder how they will be able to occupy their kids during the break.

KidsStreet Urgent Care has some DIY (do it yourself) activities to keep your kiddos busy during the holiday season. Plus, these are fun for the entire family!

Below are three fun and easily accessible activities you can do from the comfort of your home.

#1 Family Cookie Decorating Contest

A cookie decorating contest is an activity a lot of families have recommended! This activity is great for all ages, from your younger toddlers to your college kiddos.

The only necessary items you need are cookie dough, cookie decorations such as frosting, sprinkles, and marshmallows (or whatever you may have hidden in your pantry). A cookie cutter is also a plus but not required.

All you do is have everyone team up or individually decorate cookies. Then, you can share them with other family members or friends for a vote! Social media is a great way to get family and friends from out of town to participate.

#2 Decorate Your Driveway For The Holidays

This activity is excellent for your kiddos who love to be outside. All you need is some creativity and some chalk!

The decorating a driveway activity is great because it can keep your children occupied for hours! The cleanup process is also super easy and has no hassle.

#3 Make An Ornament

We can say ornaments are one of the most sentimental parts of holiday decor. Making an ornament can be a memorable activity for your entire family.

You can use gingerbread cookies, fruit, cinnamon sticks, cardboard paper, or pipe cleaners to create homemade ornaments! The options are truly endless – just be creative.
